Meet Dr. Devika Icecreamwala
Growing up in California, Devika’s first experience with dermatology was not as a doctor, but as a patient, she was diagnosed with a condition that causes loss of skin color.
Frequent visits with her dermatologist not only provided a treatment for her unique condition, but also a passion for dermatology and skincare.
She now uses her experience to provide the same compassion and education to others, focusing on simple skincare solutions that fit an individual’s needs. Dr. Icecreamwala is a board-certified dermatologist who completed her dermatology residency and fellowship at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan.
A few facts about Dr. Icecreamwala include:
- She has published several articles featured in various publications and has collaborated on numerous books within her field.
- In her spare time, Devika enjoys finding zen at Tilden Regional Park, supporting local businesses (Donkey and Goat, The Greek Theater, Asha Tea House!), exercising (running and Bikram yoga), and debating favorite coffee shops with her husband (Inklings wins every time).
- Her guilty pleasures include, Cheese, All Things Berkeley Bowl, and Artichoke Pizza at 3 am.
- Her last name means the seller of ice cream in India. She doesn’t sell ice cream but is never shy to eat it.
